Girls soccer roundup: Tigers clinch PSAA regular season title

Step one is now complete for Staten Academy.

The Tigers completed an unbeaten league season with a 2-0 win over host Portledge in PSAA girls soccer in Locust Valley Wednesday. The win clinched the Staten Island private school’s first division title since 2008. Gabby Tricorico scored off a pass from Amanda Moschella in the opening minute of the second half. Her second tally came off a feed from Danielle Fuller in the 62th minute. Staten Island Academy (7-0-1) will start the four-team playoffs, which start Tuesday, as the top seed. Portledge beat SIA in last season’s title game.

Columbia Prep 3, UNIS 1: Ella Rubin recorded a hat trick for Columbia Prep (3-3-1) in PSAA. Her sister Lucy made eight saves.

PSAL CLASS A

Thomas Edison 2, Queens HS of Teaching 1: Alejandra Barraza and Stephanie Chen bothed tallied goals for Edison (4-7-1) on Queens A-IV. Stacie McCalla and Stephanie Aybar both added assists. Queens HS of Teaching is 2-10-0.

Tottenville 0: Jackie Bruno scored the lone goal off a pass from Christina Lawless for McKee/Staten (9-3-0) Island Tech in Staten Island A. Tottenville is 10-2-0.

Petrides 2, Susan Wagner 0: Amanda Feldstein scored twice on assists from Katrina Wiesner for Petrides (8-2-1) in Staten Island A. Jaclyn DiBello made seven saves for the clean sheet. Wagner is 7-4-1.

Truman 3, Christopher Columbus 2: Happy Orere Amadu scored twice and assisted on Shanique Stewart’s goal for Truman (8-4-2) in Bronx A. Janeth Quintuna Puma added an assist. Columbus is 5-6-1.

Bronx Science 8, Herbert Lehman 0: Nadine Penkovsky recorded a hat trick and Isabella Pecorari scored twice and had an assist for Bronx Science (12-0-0) in Bronx A. Elizabeth Schaeffer and Lucy Evert each added a goal and an assist and Elizabeth Reddy added three helpers. Lehman is 2-9-0

A.P. Randolph 2, HS for Math and Science 0: Brigette Barreto and Daisy Narvaez both tallied goals for A P Randolph (4-7-2) in Manhattan A-VIII. Leslie Ramirez made four saves. HS for Math and Science is 1-9-2.

Telecommunications 4, Thomas Jefferson 0: Sayla Flores scored twice and Leticia Cuautle added a goal for Telecommunications (9-3-0) in Brooklyn B-VII. Maureen McCarthy made 12 saves for the clean sheet. Jefferson is 3-7-1.

Baruch 3, Environmental Studies 0: Marieme Sall scored twice for Baruch (13-1-0) in Bronx/Manhattan B-I. Alina Van Ryzin added a goal and Patricia Curran had an assists. Environmental Studies is 9-5-1.

South Bronx 2, Bayard Rustin 2: Shaakira Harewood scored twice for South Bronx (2-9-2) in Manhattan/Bronx B-I. Bayard Rustin is 4-7-1.
