Naked, coked-out celebrity train wreck Charlie Sheen trashed a pricey Plaza hotel suite yesterday after accusing a hooker of swiping his wallet and cellphone while his two young daughters slept across the hall, cops said.

“Please call the police! Please call the police!” Sheen’s frantic ex-wife Denise Richards, 39, pleaded in a dramatic 2 a.m. phone call to the front desk from her room adjoining the pink, toy-stuffed Eloise Suite, where the kids were staying, according to an employee.

She “was terrified,” the worker said.

Sheen’s escort was equally hysterical, cowering naked in the bathroom of the nearby suite as the belligerent, intoxicated actor tossed over tables and chairs and smashed an expensive chandelier, law-enforcement sources said.

“He wigged out,” said one source of Sheen, 45, who is still on probation in Colorado for a Christmas Day assault on his third wife, Brooke Mueller, in 2009.

When police arrived at the landmark Fifth Avenue hotel, they found Sheen stark-naked and “not coherent,” a source said.

The “Two and a Half Men” star was so loaded that cops had to button his shirt for him after telling him to get dressed. He told police that he had been out drinking and doing cocaine earlier before ending up in his suite with the hooker, sources said.

Sheen said he began wrecking the room after he noticed that his wallet and cellphone were missing, the sources said. As the actor flipped, the hooker ran to the bathroom and locked herself inside.

A source told The Post that the petrified prostitute phoned a friend who was “working” elsewhere in The Plaza. The friend then alerted hotel staff, which dialed 911.

Neither Plaza management nor the escort chose to press charges against Sheen — who apologized to cops for his behavior and volunteered to pay for the estimated $7,000 in damage that he caused, the sources said.

No drugs were found in his room.

Sheen, who had an elevated heart rate after the fracas, was taken to New York Hospital for evaluation, with Richards joining him in the ambulance.

“Charlie had an allergic reaction to some medication,” Sheen’s agent, Stan Rosenfield, said in a statement.

The couple’s daughters, Sam, 6, and Lola, 5, were left with a nanny in the Eloise Suite, named after the famous fictional girl whose life residing at the tony hotel is chronicled in a popular series of children’s books.

The deeply troubled TV star was released from the hospital and headed back to Promises rehab facility in California, Radar Online said last night.

The family set up camp at the ritzy Plaza several days ago for Richards’ New York media swing to hype her role on the TV show “Blue Mountain State.”

Hours after Sheen was taken to the hospital, Richards continued the promotional tour, appearing on Howard Stern’s Sirius radio show, where she was asked about her ex.

“We’re getting along very well, Charlie and I,” Richards said.

“I guess you could say it’s hunky-dory.”

But, she added, “It’s been a very eventful trip.”

Richards’ romance with Sheen was far from “hunky-dory” five years ago, when she filed for divorce while pregnant with their second child for “irreconcilable differences.”

She later accused him of abusing her and neglecting the kids — and said that he still had a penchant for prostitutes, drugs and gambling. As Richards made other appearances yesterday, the kids went to FAO Schwarz with the nanny.

The family had all gone out together Sunday night to see the Broadway show “Mary Poppins.”

Then, Monday night, hours before the blow-up, Richards went to dinner with Sheen and a group of friends — as well as several women described as celebrity-hanger-on escorts — at the ritzy restaurant Daniel, Life & Style magazine reported.

Its Web site said one of the escorts in the group was the one Sheen brought back to The Plaza.

“Charlie was stumbling and loud and being very frisky and touchy-feely” with her at the restaurant, an eyewitness said. “Charlie and his date excused themselves to the bathroom together, for a long time. You don’t have to be an investigator to know what was going on in that bathroom.”

Finally, Richards “looked like she had enough” and left, the mag said.

The actress, in an interview with CNN last night, appeared more fed up about her husband’s antics than she had in her chat with Stern earlier.

“My daughters are 5 and 6 years old. They’re at an age where they can start to understand. They have no idea what went on. . . . [But] they’re young enough, thank God, to not turn on the TV or pick up a paper,” she said.

Asked how Sheen was doing, the clearly uncomfortable actress said, “Maybe I’ll let you ask Charlie.” She added, “I’m trying to protect the girls from it as much as possible.”

Sheen was reportedly expected to fly back last night to Los Angeles and resume shooting for “Two and A Half Men,” the CBS show that pays him a whopping $1.8 million per episode.

Warner Bros., which produces the hit show, refused to comment on the latest sleazy transgression of its star.

Prosecutors in Colorado said they were aware of the incident involving Sheen, but did not have information that he violated the conditions of his probation.
