Formerly frumpy Aguilera looks fabulous

Xtina has done a total X-over — from frumpy to fabulous.

The pop songstress — who in recent years became more famous for stepping out with no pants than her music — lit up the red carpet at Sunday’s American Music Awards in a slinky white gown with torso cut outs that showed of her recent weight loss.

It was a total turnaround from last year’s awards show, when the then- portly host of “The Voice” posed on the red carpet in a drapey lavender number meant to camouflage her ballooning curves rather than accentuate them.

It’s been a dark few years, fashion-wise, for the 32-year-old former Mouseketeer, but her new look is music to our ears. See her major fashion offenses, and how she’s emerged like a contender for best dressed.

Great Performances

Did Calvin Klein give her a makeover? The songstress went for a chic, minimal look when she performed at Sunday’s American Music Awards in sleek, curve hugging column dress.

Staging an Intervention

At last year’s American Music Awards, Aguilera defied the laws of physics by squeezing into a corset so tight, we’re surprised she didn’t pop any of those stars while hitting a high note.

She’s Bad

How else would one honor Michael Jackson during a tribute concert than dress up like a deranged Miss Piggy? Here, Aguilera performs at the 2011 “Michael Forever” in a leather corset, fishnets and a nest of messy bleached blonde locks. And, while she ditched pants, she inexplicably wore long sleeves.

No Pants, Big Problem

During the 1920s, women fought for the right to wear trousers, but in 2011, Aguilera is free to walk around without any bottoms — at the height of her heft. Here, she stepped out with her boyfriend Matt Rutler in leather jacket and Andy Warhol t-shirt.

Clowning Around

The Ringling Brothers-approved beauty look once ruled Aguilera’s life, as evidenced by her November 2012 appearance on “Extra.” From shiny, cherry red lips to caked on foundation and dip-dye hair, the Staten Island native looked like she was auditioning for the “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?” sequel.

Agent Orange

The diva’s spray-tanned carrot-hued skin tone has been well documented. But when the tanning solution embarrassingly dripped down her legs as she performed at the 2012 Etta James funeral, it made more headlines than the service itself.
