Cher to join ‘Dancing with the Stars’ audience to support son

LOS ANGELES — Cher will join the “Dancing with the Stars” studio audience Monday night to support son Chaz Bono, as he fights to keep his spot on the dance show.

The singer and actress had stayed away from the first few tapings so as not to steal the spotlight from Bono and his pro dance partner Lacey Schwimmer, according to People magazine.

But since he has managed to stay on the competition four weeks, his mom finally agreed to attend a live performance.

“It’s very exciting. It will be a real family affair,” Bono, 42, said about having his mom, stepmom, aunt, uncle and brother all coming to the show as part of the audience.

Bono and Schwimmer will try impressing the judges Monday as they dance the paso doble. The pair has consistently received the lowest scores from the judges but viewer votes have been strong and have spared them from getting the cut.

“The pressure of wanting to do good for all the people who are supporting me is so much more intense for me than having my family in the audience rooting for me. It should be a very fun night,” he added.

Last week, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler joined the show audience to cheer on his ex-fiancee, Kristin Cavallari. But despite having the famous football player on hand, Cavallari was booted off the show.
