Obey law & occupy as long as you like: Mike

Wall Street-hating protesters have been camped out in Zuccotti Park since Sept. 17. Yesterday, Mayor Bloomberg said they can stay as long as they want.

“The bottom line is people want to express themselves, and as long as they obey the law, we’ll allow them to,” Hizzoner said before marching in the Columbus Day Parade.

But he stressed that the city’s hospitality was contingent on good behavior.

“If they break the laws, then we’re going to do what we’re supposed to do — enforce the laws,” the mayor said.

Gov. Cuomo also had supportive words for the reform-minded demonstrators, saying he understood their frustration over the economy.

“Am I surprised? No. I’m out there every day talking to people. [Things] are very, very hard and [have] been for a long time.”

Cops have been told not to evict protesters over the park’s uneven hygiene.

Protester James Robinson, 36, of Chicago, vowed, “I’m staying here till I get a job.”
