Private boys soccer roundup: Lee’s late strike sends Dalton past Trinity

Isaac Lee’s 75th-minute strike sent Dalton to a thrilling, 1-0 win over Trinity in Ivy Prep League boys soccer Wednesday afternoon. The sophomore central midfielder’s goal from 25 yards gave the Tigers, who hit the crossbar twice and dominated play, a much-needed win.

“It was the greatest goal I’ve ever seen in high school soccer,” Dalton coach L.M. Echegaray said. “He smashed it and the ball curved it into the top right corner. It was amazing.”

Goalkeeper Daniel Postal made three saves for the clean sheet, his fifth shutout of the year. Dalton, which has won three in a row and five of six, improved to 7-4-0 overall and 6-4-0 in league while Trinity is 1-7-0.

No. 8 Collegiate 4, Poly Prep 2: Weller Hlinomaz scored twice and has four goals since his return from a groin injury last week, and Imran Hassan and Anthony Evans each scored once for Collegiate in the Ivy Prep League. The Dutchmen are 5-2-1 in league and 6-2-2 overall while Poly Prep, which has dropped three of its last four games, is now 5-6-0 and 3-5-0.

Hackley 7, Riverdale 0: Hackley improved to 7-2-0 in the Ivy Prep League while Riverdale is 1-9-0 overall and 0-9-0 in the Ivy.
