A terrified 3-year-old girl and her 11-year-old brother were held hostage by their deranged father in their Brooklyn apartment for more than four hours yesterday.

The standoff began at about 11 a.m. when the unidentified man locked himself inside an apartment at 1401 Atlantic Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant along with the children, cops said.

The unarmed father refused police requests to open the door until 3 p.m., when cops overpowered him and led the terrorized kids out the front door.

The 3-year-old was crying as a cop carried her down to the street.

“He gave up inside the room. We had to go in and subdue him,” said a police source at the scene. “Kids are fine, father is fine. He’s going to the hospital to get checked out, and he’ll be arrested there.”

The children’s mother became hysterical in the third hour of the standoff and was taken to Woodhull Hospital.

“He would come and go whenever they were on speaking terms,” said Ruth Ware, who lives below the mother. “He was not a nice man.”
