President Obama to appear on ‘The Tonight Show’

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will appear on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno on Tuesday, Oct. 25, the White House announced.

It will be the President’s second appearance on the show. His first guest spot was in March 2009.

Obama and Leno last went head-to-head at the 2010 White House correspondents’ dinner. Both men gave speeches, with Obama’s being judged the more humorous by the assembled media.

“The only person whose ratings fell more than mine last year is here tonight. It is Jay,” the President told the crowd, referring to Leno’s disastrous move in 2009 to a prime-time slot.
