Man says his rights were violated because of pro-fracking stance

An upstate man says his right to free speech was violated by local officials who don’t like his pro-fracking stance.

“Let’s get frack’n, just pass the gas,” is what Ned Lang, 53, posted on a nearly 30-square-foot sign on his garage in the town of Tusten.

“I support America’s energy, 100 percent,” said Lang, a Tusten Town Board member.

The town code says signs can only be 4 square feet.

There were about 20 other signs violating the rule, but only Lang’s supported fracking — and only his was issued a violation, according to his Manhattan federal suit.
