Mistrial declared in hip-hop slaying

A federal judge in the murder-for-hire case of fallen hip-hop mogul James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond declared a mistrial Friday when jurors remained deadlocked after nearly four days of deliberation.

Manhattan federal Judge Colleen McMahon’s decision doesn’t keep Rosemond, 49, out of jail. He was sentenced last year in Brooklyn federal court to life in prison for running a multimillion-dollar drug empire.

Federal prosecutors are currently considering whether to try him on the murder rap again.
