Charles Hynes and the NYPD are about to cost taxpayers again.
Jonathan Fleming of Brooklyn, who was wrongfully convicted of murder and imprisoned for 24 years, will sue the city for $162 million, his lawyers told The Post.
One of the lawyers, Taylor Koss, said he hopes the city settles the suit quickly — just like it did for David Ranta, who spent 23 years behind bars after he was wrongfully convicted of killing a rabbi before his March 2013 release.
Both botched prosecutions occurred when Hynes was Brooklyn’s district attorney.
Fleming, 51, walked out of jail a free man in April after prosecutors admitted they had a receipt that put Fleming at a Florida hotel near Disney World four hours before the 1989 murder.
“The truth is, he’s been struggling,” Fleming lawyer Taylor Koss said. “This money is important to him so he can establish his life again.”
