Lamont Jones, who verbally committed to Louisville when he was a sophomore at Rice High in Harlem last year, announced yesterday that he was re-opening his recruitment.
“He never went through the whole process,” said Tony Bergeron, who now coaches the 6-foot junior at American Christian Academy outside of Philadelphia, where Jones transferred in August.
“He didn’t really look at all of his options.”
Bergeron added that Jones – who was with teammates at the Gauchos Gym in The Bronx yesterday – does not yet have a new list of schools for which he might play.
The move does not come as a great surprise, since the guard considered making the same decision last summer.
