Rihanna’s trying to put a little sunshine in her life.
The “Umbrella” singer and crooning comrade Katy Perry (right) soaked up rays and went on a thrilling ocean raft ride (below) this week while vacationing in Rihanna’s native Barbados.
Rihanna has kept a low profile since early February, when then-boyfriend Chris Brown was arrested for allegedly beating her in Los Angeles.
Brown has been charged with two felonies, assault and making a criminal threat. He has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court May 29.
Perry, known for her tune “I Kissed a Girl,” said she’s happy to be Rihanna’s pal during these tough times.
“We’re friends and we’re both kind of on this crazy roller coaster, and . . . it’s nice to have good girlfriends,” Perry, 24, told MTV recently.
“I pride myself on having cool chicks in my life, and she’s a cool chick.”
Rihanna and Brown appeared to have reconciled shortly after the alleged assault, but in recent weeks, they haven’t been seen together.
