Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony headed to Barclays

The Barclays Center is set to host the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 10, marking the event’s first visit to Brooklyn, reps for the Cleveland museum announced on Monday.

The 2014 inductees include Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, KISS, Nirvana, Linda Ronstadt and Cat Stevens.

Legendary Beatles savant Brian Epstein and longtime Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham will be honored with the Ahmet Ertegun Award (Epstein posthumously) for lifetime achievement.

The E Street Band will get the Award for Musical Excellence, honoring veteran studio and concert musicians.

Show producers are still booking acts, so it’s unclear who among the honorees will perform.

Tickets are set to go on sale in January. It’ll be the show’s first appearance in New York since 2011, when it played at the Waldorf.

Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark talked up Brooklyn’s role in music.

“Brooklyn has always been a hotbed for rock ’n’ roll and we’re proud to continue that tradition by hosting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony,” he said.

“Barclays Center has hosted many of the world’s biggest artists, and we are looking forward to welcoming the new Inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as we celebrate for the first time ever in Brooklyn.”
