PAL WILL FLIP AGAINST BROOKLYN ‘HATE SLAYERS’

A third person with the men who allegedly killed an Ecuadorian immigrant they believed was gay will testify against the pair, sources said yesterday.

The man, whose name is being withheld by The Post, was riding in the SUV with the accused killers when they allegedly clubbed José Sucuzhany and his brother, Romel, last Dec. 7 in Brooklyn. The friend did not take part in the attack.

Sources said the witness had been under guard by law enforcement to ensure his safety.

Prosecutors yesterday unsealed indictments against Hakim Scott, 25, and Keith Phoenix, 28, both of The Bronx, charging second-degree murder as a hate crime, attempted assault as a hate crime and weapons possession.

Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes said Scott and Phoenix mistook the brothers for gay because the two were huddled together against the cold as they walked home in Bushwick.

He said the attackers yelled anti-gay and anti-Hispanic slurs as they beat José with a beer bottle and a baseball bat. Romel fled and phoned cops.
