Carter denies affair with coworker

Embattled NY1 political anchor Dominic Carter today forcefully denied that he had an extramarital affair with a co-worker at the news station.

“Emphatically ‘no,’ ” the accused wife beater Carter said when asked about the purported affair with the co-worker.

“I’m not having an affair with [that woman] or any other woman.”

“The only person I’m intimately involved with is the woman I’m married to – my wife,” he told reporters outside his Rockland County home.

He then offered to bring out his wife, Marilyn, to rebut the claims of the workplace dalliance.

“My wife knows [the woman], they are friends, they talk to each other as girlfriends,” he said.

Marilyn Carter, 52, came out and said, “Dominic and [the woman] have been colleagues for many years. I’ve talked to her on occasion.”

Marilyn said she did not believe long-standing rumors that Dominic had cheated on her with the other NY1 journalist.

When the NY1 co-worker – who herself is married — was contacted last night by The Post and asked about the alleged affair, she said, “No, no, not at all, that is so not true.”

However, a source familiar with the situation said that about two years ago Marilyn was telling friends that Dominic was having sex with his co-worker.

Marilyn Carter told cops on Oct. 22, 2008 that Dominic punched, choked and kicked her during an argument in their Pomona, NY, home. She later recanted that claim, saying that it was actually a day laborer who attacked her.

Dominic, 45, is awaiting the verdict the bench trial conducted yesterday on a charge of assaulting Marilyn. He denies he ever beat her.
