Drunk Marine sends cops on car & foot chase

Semper faced.

An apparently drunk US Marine — in full uniform — led cops on a crazy car and foot chase through the Brooklyn Army Terminal Wednesday after apparently mistaking the terminal entrance for the entrance to the Belt Parkway.

“He was really bombed,” one law enforcement source said of Christian Rodriguez, 26, who is being charged with driving while intoxicated.

The juiced-up jarhead, who lives on Staten Island, was trying to steer his Dodge Charger toward the Verrazano Bridge, the source told The Post.

But he made a right turn off Second Avenue about 200 yards too early, driving through the well-marked, open terminal gate at 63rd Street, and busting the security arm en route to what he thought was the parkway on ramp, according to sources.

Rodriguez drove for about a quarter mile, veering onto a rail bed shared by an LIRR freight line and the N train. His car eventually got hung up on the rail bed, and he jumped out, authorities said, leaving the keys in the car and the engine running.

By then cops were in pursuit, catching him on foot as he ran into a tunnel that runs under Shore Road.

“He was very nice, very respectful,” said one law enforcement, adding that the Marine declined to take a breath test.

The Brooklyn Army Terminal — once a major military supply and shipping base — is now an industrial park.
