An engaged New Jersey couple taking an evening stroll through Central Park were robbed at gunpoint of a $32,000 engagement ring, a $13,000 watch and other baubles.
Zachary Zeltzer, 24, and Lauren Ficano, 26, were headed toward the Wollman Rink at around 8:20 p.m. Sunday when they were set upon near the Trefoil Arch, which passes beneath the East Drive at around 73rd Street, police sources said.
“Give me your stuff and nobody will get hurt!” said the thug, who appeared to be holding a hidden handgun. He fled with the loot.
