CHSAA boys basketball roundup: Loughlin holds off Molloy, 82-76

Jayvaughn Pinkston scored a game-high 34 points and Branden Frazier added 18 points to lead Bishop Loughlin, the No. 2 team in The Post’s New York City boys basketball rankings, to an 82-76 victory over Archbishop Molloy Tuesday afternoon in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

Rasi Jenkins and Kareem Canty added 10 points apiece for Loughlin (12-1, 4-0 ‘AA’), which takes on top-ranked Rice at home Friday night. Molloy (6-5, 2-1) was led by Ernest Rouse, who had 29 points, and Chris Garcia, who had 18 points.

Rice 60, Xaverian 55: Kadeem Jack remains hot, scoring 25 points, while Jermaine Sanders added 13 points for Rice (9-2, 4-0 ‘AA’), the No. 1 team in The Post boys basketball rankings, Tuesday afternoon at Gauchos Gym in The Bronx. Xaverian (3-6, 1-4) was led by Brian Bernardi (19 points) and Immanuel Thomas, who added 10 points.

All Hallows 64, St. Francis Prep 54: Manhattan-bound Michael Alvarado scored a game-high 31 points to lead All Hallows (4-6, 1-4 ‘AA’) over St. Francis Prep Tuesday afternoon in Fresh Meadows, Queens. George Hatzioannides led St. Francis Prep (10-5, 0-4) with 16 points, Roger Harris had 12 points and Mike Murray added 11 for the Terriers.

St. Edmund Prep 67, St. John’s Prep 49: Vinny Marchiano had 29 points and 11 rebounds and Bryan Garvey added 12 points and six assists to lead St. Edmund (5-7, 3-2 A-South) Tuesday afternoon in Brooklyn. Michael Kaliampos scored a team-high 15 points for St. John’s Prep, which fell to 5-6, 3-2 in the division.

Mount St. Michael 93, Monsignor Scanlan 64: Peter Aguilar had 27 points, Gary Acquah had 16, Clarence White had 15 and Randy Samuels added 10 for Mount St. Michael (13-1, 6-0 A-North) Tuesday afternoon in The Bronx. The red-hot Mountaineers will take a 12-game winning streak to Iona Prep for an A-North showdown with Iona Prep Friday night. Scanlan fell to 1-7, 1-4 in the division.

Xavier 59, St. Agnes 45: Euroy Smith had 16 points, Billy Hunter 14, Eddie Sullivan 10, Ryan Alexander added nine for Xavier (7-3, 5-2 A-South) Monday afternoon in Manhattan. Henry MacArthur led St. Agnes (4-9, 1-6) with 13 points.
