Starr report

Former “SNLer” Chris Parnell, who co-stars in FX’s new animated series, “Archer,” says he’s waiting to hear about a proposed Comedy Central sitcom in which he’d co-star with Jon Heder (“Napoleon Dynamite”).

“If it hap pens as it’s supposed to, we’d shoot it in New York,” says Parnell, calling to talk about his role as anal-retentive comptroller Cyril Figgis in “Archer,” an “Office”-type parody of the “super spy” genre premiering tomorrow night with co-stars H. Jon Benjamin, Jessica Walter and Aisha Tyler.

“He’s kind of whiny and a little desperate,” Parnell says of Cyril, who’s dating suave superagent Sterling Archer’s buxom ex-girlfriend, Lana Kane (Tyler). “He’s very envious of Archer and his savoir
faire and spy intrigue and he’s insecure about the relationship Lana had with Archer — and the fact she and Archer are always work ing together.”

Parnell (“30 Rock’s” Dr. Leo Spaceman), says Cyril will be fleshed out more as the season progresses (“Archer” has a 10-episode order). “Cyril’s relationship with Lana be comes a bit more strained . . . and a more questionable side of Cyril’s personality comes out. He’s not quite the goody-two-shoes; there’s a bit of a darker side.”
