Hobo who ‘menaced’ mom pushing stroller ‘sorry’

The hobo accused of accosting a mother as she pushed her baby in a stroller through Fort Tryon Park last September apologized to his victim as he took a plea deal Tuesday in a Manhattan court.

“I’m very sorry for what I did and it will hurt my heart for the rest of my life,” said Oscar Ruiz, 35, through a Spanish interpreter.

The creep copped to misdemeanor menacing – after prosecutors dismissed the attempted rape charge – and was sentenced to six months in jail in Manhattan Criminal Court.

“There was no sexual demand or sexual content,” argued Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Gaffney in asking to throw out the more serious felony charge.

Ruiz was busted in New Jersey last month for the depraved attack and was extradited to New York.

The sicko came up behind MaryJane Jarman, 33, on Sept 27 as she jogged pushing her 8-month-old boy in a stroller in the Inwood park

Brandishing a broken beer bottle, he allegedly ran toward Jarman shouting, “Come here! Come here!” according to the criminal complaint.

When the pervert caught up to the terrified mom, he yelled, “I’m sorry, I’m sick!” He then threw her to the ground.

The brave mom pulled out a stroller tire pump and bashed Ruiz in the head prompting the predator to flee.

Police identified Ruiz from a fingerprint he left at the scene. He was on suicide watch since he was taken into custody Oct. 6.
