The swimsuit that takes off 10 pounds

It will take you from beach ball to “Baywatch” — and you don’t even have to diet.

The best-selling bathing suit at Bloomingdale’s this year is the Miraclesuit, which promises to make you look 10 pounds lighter in 10 seconds.

The suit’s deep V-neck ac centuates the curves of the bust, and the ruching around the waist disguises the bulge of the belly and lengthens the torso.

But the secret ingredient is Miratex, a patented spandex material with three times the amount of Lycra used in normal bathing suits. Everything is pretty well packed inside.

It might change the mind of the one in five women who a Fitness magazine survey found would rather walk on hot coals than wear a swim suit.

Plus-size model Nicole Le bris, 29, tested the one- piece Miraclesuit — which retails for $130 to $180 — for The Post, comparing it against a no-frills Reebok bathing suit, which costs $80.

Lebris said the Miraclesuit, made by a Pennsylvania company, made her look smaller in the waist and longer in the legs than the similar teal-colored Reebok suit, which she said lacked the extra body-firming nylon.

“The Miraclesuit accentuates my curves in a good way,” Lebris said. “It makes my waist look small, and the low-cut neckline and the high-cut bikini line makes me look taller.”

While modeling the Reebok suit, she said: “The leg openings are too tight. I have big hips, and it feels like it’s cutting in.”

Sporting a one-piece is also in vogue this year, according to fashion editors.

“Retro swimsuits are really popular, and it’s made wearing a one-piece a little more acceptable,” said Lauren Sherman, editor of Fashionista.com.

“The fashion industry is really into retro style, and it’s given women the OK to wear one-pieces, and that’s comforting to a lot of women. Before, if you didn’t wear a bikini, it was kind of weird, and a lot of women who wear two-pieces really shouldn’t. You’re more confident if you look good in a bathing suit.”

Miraclesuits in jewel tones like turquoise and purple and the always-slimming black are being whisked off the racks at Bloomie’s, a store spokeswoman said.

Sales are up dramatically from last year, as women who haven’t shed their winter padding reach for the body-slimming suit.

Sandra Davidoff, a spokeswoman for Miraclesuit, said the swimwear comes in sizes 8 through 14.

“What woman wouldn’t want to look 10 pounds lighter?” Davidoff said. “With the suit, you can have your cake and eat it, too.”
