Looks like Johnson will stay with Hawks

CLEVELAND — Arn Tellem, the agent for Joe Johnson, said the Knicks are still in the hunt, but indicated $30 million may be too much for Mike D’Antoni to overcome.

Johnson met a second straight day with the Hawks — a strong sign he is leaning toward staying with Atlanta. A source said the maximum offer has been made — six years, $119 million. That’s one year and $30M more than the Knicks can deliver under the CBA, making the Hawks solid faves.

“Nothing is done, but clearly there’s some things Joe has to think about,” Tellem told The Post.

“Joe’s always been intrigued about New York. He feels very close to D’Antoni, and they [the Knicks] deserve serious consideration.

“It’s a great place to play as far as fans and environment, but to counterbalance, he’s comfortable in Atlanta, happy, and they can offer him one more year.”

The Knicks met with Johnson at midnight Wednesday in Santa Monica. A source said Johnson will speak to one more team, the Bulls. If the Knicks can’t hook up Johnson and LeBron James, they’d love to get Johnson and Amar’e Stoudemire, and they’d consider it a very successful July. They were both teammates in Phoenix, and a source said Johnson would love it.

Sources also have indicated Stoudemire is interested in the Knicks, but a big part of it is to reunite with Johnson in New York. Tellem also is the agent for sharpshooter Mike Miller, who met with the Knicks on Wednesday night, too, and is in play, according to the agent.

Happy Walters, agent for Stoudemire, confirmed that D’Antoni talked briefly with Stoudemire after midnight Wednesday, and that Stoudemire likely will visit New York over the weekend. Stoudemire also is interested in Miami and pairing with James in Chicago.
