Snooki, JWoww socked with lawsuit

Two of the cast members of the “Jersey Shore” took the term “battling” on the dance floor a little too literally during the filming of the show’s second season — and now they are in hot water because of it.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley are named in a lawsuit by a Chicago woman, Carrie Malec, who claims the two “guidettes” assaulted her on the dance floor at the Miami-area nightclub, Tantra, on May 6.

The incident allegedly took place after Malec provoked Farley and Polizzi by approaching several of the male cast members while at the club.

Malec, who also names Viacom and MTV as defendants in the suit, is seeking $75,000 in damages for physical and emotional distress caused by the alleged beating as well as claiming that MTV and Viacom are “profitting from criminal activity of its employees.”

The suit also calls for the episode in which the supposed incident occurs to not be aired during the show’s second season.

According to the filing, Malec and her attorney believe that “If the episode is allowed to air, PLAINTIFF will be thrust into the public spotlight without her consent after being beaten and humiliated by DEFENDANTS. The airing of the episode would cause increased emotional distress.”

Malec also claims that the event is teased in the trailer for the show’s second season, and that she will be part of the drama “Shore” fans have become accustomed to seeing.

In a similar case from last season, three males who engaged in altercations with Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, another cast member, filed suit against MTV for “engaging in criminal enterprise.”

A New Jersey judge agreed to allow the suit to be heard, there has been no further rulings regarding the case.

“Jersey Shore” Season Two airs on MTV on July 29 at 10 p.m.
