2 SEALs are eagle saviors

Two Navy SEALs rescued an eagle that had been shot by an Afghani soldier, and are now trying to get it transferred to a sanctuary in New York.

“I fear it will be killed soon unless rescued,” Seal Craig White said in an e-mail. “It was hit in its wing and was not able to fly. We [the Americans at the camp] took it in and nursed it back to health, but I don’t think it will fly again.”

White reached out to Berkshire Bird Paradise, a sanctuary in Petersburgh.

Sen. Charles Schumer’s office is working to facilitate the bird’s arrival in New York.
