Dr. Phil’s ‘house’ call

Dr. Phil McGraw and his wife Robin have officially put their Beverly Hills mansion on the market for an eye-watering asking price of $16.5 million, according to real estate records.

The sale has raised all sorts of questions about why the TV couple is moving and where they’ll go.

But so far, spokesmen for the TV shrink have declined to answer questions about the move.

The couple just had their first grandchild — a girl, Avery Elizabeth, by son Jay (who produces the daytime talk show “The Doctors”) and his wife Erica — last March. They may be planning to move closer to her in LA.

But the house has quietly been on the market for nearly two years as a socalled pocket listing, where the property is not listed openly with real estate firms but is known to be available, according to reports.

Dr. Phil and his wife bought the house — for about $7.5 million — in 2002, when they moved from Dallas to start his daily show, originally produced by Oprah Winfrey’s company, Harpo.

The 11,000-square-foot house has eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a master suite with two separate baths, a sitting area and his and hers dressing rooms.

UPDATE: A spokesman for Dr. Phil says the couple has a bought a new home nearby, which “they have admiried for years.”

“They’ve already purchased it and closed on it,” says the rep.

There was no word on the cost or a description of the new house.
