New Jersey man accused of rubbing deer meat on car to cover up hit-and-run: Report

A New Jersey man is accused of rubbing deer meat on his car in an attempt to cover up a fatal hit-and-run accident, The Daily Journal reported Tuesday.

Robert Eisele, 42, of Millville, located in southern New Jersey, is accused of striking Edward M. Morrison, 36, at around 12:00pm local time on Dec. 15. Morrison was found alive on the side of the road approximately 30 minutes after the accident, but later died at South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

Eisele was arrested Dec. 16 when someone contacted police after seeing his damaged vehicle. He told police he had struck “something” in the road, Senior Assistant Prosecutor Michael Ostrowski said. Eisele was arraigned Monday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident after causing the death of another person.

A “tipster” reportedly called the police after seeing Eisele’s damaged car, leading investigators to the deer meat incident, according to Ostrowski.

He added that more charges are pending.
