Pauly D gets first ‘Shore’ spinoff

Pauly D is branching out on his own.

MTV announced that “Jersey Shore” star Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio has signed a series option deal with the network, making him the first castmate to get a spinoff show.

“He’s distinguished himself onscreen as the fun-loving, well-coiffed and dependable guy you can’t help but want to hang out with,” said Chris Linn, executive vice president of programming and head of production for MTV.

“We know viewers are curious about his life away from the shore, and we look forward to exploring new possibilities around that.”

Although there’s no word on what the new series will be about, the announcement follows in the footsteps of a pilot presentation that Pauly D shot with 495 Productions — the masterminds behind “Shore” — in September.

Back then, it was reported that the pilot was for a reality series related to his deejaying gig, a job he had prior to appearing on the hit reality series.

During his “Jersey Shore” filming downtime, Pauly D travels across the country spinning records at clubs. Earlier in the year, he was nominated for the title of America’s Best DJ.

Season 3 of “Shore” begins Jan. 6.
