Cops shoot Queens ‘slasher’ dead

Cops responding to a domestic dispute last night opened fire and killed a knife-wielding Queens man after he slashed a sergeant in the hand, sources said.

The violence erupted about 9:30 p.m. on the first story of a two-family home at 64-49 Shaler Ave. in Ridgewood, where the victim, who was in his 20s, lived with his mother, the sources said.

Preliminary reports indicated three cops who showed up at the home to handle the dispute may have all fired at the agitated man after he lunged at them. It wasn’t clear how many shots were fired.

The victim’s name was not released. The injured cop was taken to New York Hospital of Queens for treatment of a non-life-threatening wound.
