Late last year, five brave souls volunteered to test out 2011’s newest diet books — and in the midst of pie, stuffing and cocktail season, no less! To help them out in their 10-week, slim-seeking journey of deprivation, we gave each of them a different diet plan and a three-month pass to their local New York Sports Club, complete with three complimentary training sessions. The goal? To find out whether the new year’s diet books are really worth their weight in loss, and to see just how much willpower is needed to avoid holiday temptation! Here’s how they measured up — or didn’t.
