Man busted at JFK with 7 pounds of cocaine inside frozen meat

What a meathead!

A man trying to smuggle cocaine inside of packages of frozen meat was busted at JFK Airport, officials said.

US Customs and Border Protection Officers found it odd that Yudishtir Maharaj brought three large packages of frozen meat in his suitcase from Trinidad on March 20, authorities said.

Yudishtir Maharaj was allegedly caught sneaking cocaine stuffed inside packages of meat.

When the officers probed the meat, a white, powdery substance came out of it and then tested positive for cocaine, officials said. In all, Maharaj was carrying more than 7 pounds of cocaine, officials added.

He was arrested for importing drugs and was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations. He will face federal prosecution for smuggling narcotics, authorities said.

“This latest seizure demonstrates the vigilance of our CBP officers and their excellence in detecting those who would try to smuggle these illegal substances,” said Robert E. Perez, director of CBP’s field operations in New York.
