Jaspers get out-Foxed

Chavaughn Lewis scored 17 points, Devin Price had 14 to surpass 1,000 points for his career and Marist held Manhattan scoreless in the final 3 minutes to win 62-58 last night in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., in the MAAC opener for both teams.

The Red Foxes (3-5), who snapped a two-game skid, led by 13 with 8:08 remaining. The Jaspers (2-5) then used a 18-2 run, capped by a layup from Michael Alvarado (19 points) to take a 58-55 lead with 3:00 left.

Connecticut 57, Harvard 49

In Storrs, Conn., DeAndre Daniels scored a career-high 23 points, Ryan Boatright added 16 and Connecticut (7-2) took control with a 13-2 run early in the second half and beat Harvard (4-4).

FDU 82, Lafayette 80

In Hackensack, N.J., Sidney Sanders Jr. scored on a last-second tip shot as Fairleigh Dickinson (4-4), which was led by 18 points from Mustafaa Jones, held off a late surge by Lafayette (3-8).

Canisius 67, Fairfield 55

In Bridgeport, Conn., Billy Baron and Harold Washington each scored 19 points as Canisius (5-1, 1-0 MAAC) defeated Fairfield (4-5, 0-1) to match its victory total from last year’s 25-loss season.
