This week’s couple: Funny story

LAUGHTER is key to many a heart, but what happens when the joke is on you? Ethan and Christina, both 26, discovered how much humor they had when the musician and cocktail waitress met at hot Gramercy comedy club, the Stand. After dinner and drinks, they took in a set. Did they leave laughing together — or at each other?

He said:

Christina is attractive and very put together, which works for her. I, on the other hand, don’t dress up often. I only ditched my T-shirt for a dress shirt because my co-workers said I should.

The date wasn’t awkward at any point. Christina told me about her family history, and I could tell she is a great catch, but I didn’t feel like we had that much in common.

The Stand is an awesome venue. We sat front row, and watched Janeane Garofalo and Judah Friedlander from “30 Rock” perform. We also got heckled by the comedians, but nothing we couldn’t handle.

The date was an adventure. Christina is very cool and beautiful. I got her number and I’m open to seeing her again. No telling if this turns into a relationship.

She said:

When I met Ethan, we got along great and the date became fun.

He knows how to carry a conversation. We talked about family and music, while enjoying the great service and food at the Stand. During the stand-up set, I discovered Ethan can also take a joke.

We got made fun of by almost every comedian — one got on Ethan about not owning a computer — but he rolled with the punches and played along. He even gave it right back. He handled himself well.

Ethan and I got along great. There weren’t any fireworks, but we did exchange numbers and I would have to go out with him again to see if there is a spark.
