Graveyard ghoul accused of snatching $160k of fixtures busted

The graveyard ghoul that allegedly ripped off more than $160,000 worth of bronze fixtures from mausoleums in a historic Bronx cemetery was busted today — a day after security guards caught him red-handed.

Over a weekend span, Louis Peduto, 56, allegedly stripped bronze door handles and air vents from 65 mausoleums in St. Raymond Cemetery order to sell them for scrap, sources said.

Peduto, of the Bronx, returned again the cemetery on Monday, but was confronted by a security guard.

The guard snapped his picture and then gave chase, but Peduto, dumped a bag of purloined bronze and got away.

That image was turned over to cops, according to Matt Horrace, chief of FJC Security, which patrols the grounds.
