Burns wins jogger case

Filmmaker Ken Burns yesterday beat back the city’s effort to obtain raw footage from his documentary on the infamous “Central Park jogger” rape case.

A judge granted Burns’ request to quash a subpoena for the unused material on grounds that his production firm is covered by “reporter privilege.”

The city claimed it needed what Burns left on the cutting-room floor to help defend itself against wrongful-conviction claims by the five men who had their sentences tossed in 2002, prompting a $250 million civil suit.
