Gay bash on subway

A gay man was pummeled by a group of bullies while riding the subway on the Upper West Side this week, cops said yesterday.

The attack took place at 6 p.m. Monday when two women started an argument with a gay couple seated on the No. 2 train.

The argument escalated and the two women and another man attacked the victim, a 23-year-old gay man seated with his beau.

The man suffered lacerations to his face and his left eye was swollen shut. His partner was left unharmed in the scuffle.

They were able to escape the bullies at 96th Street and approached two officers on foot patrol.

The victim was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital.

No arrests have been made. The NYPD launched a hate crime investigation.
