Jay-Z ‘Rocs’ out EMI’s door

Jay-Z and Beyoncé are making waves again in the music business.

In a high-profile defection, Jay-Z is quitting EMI Music Publishing and moving his song rights — along with those of a host of artists on his music label Roc Nation — to Warner Music Group’s Warner/Chappell.

The deal encompasses all of Jay-Z’s song catalog since 2008, including his monster hit with Alicia Keys, “New York State of Mind,” along with any future works.

What’s more, sources said, Beyoncé is expected to join her rapper husband and sign with Warner/Chappell, although there was no official announcement yesterday.

Through a separate deal, Warner/Chappell is getting other Roc Nation song rights. They include Bruno Mars’ hits “Just the Way You Are” and “Grenade,” and Cee-Lo Green’s “F–k You,” among others.
