Boy’s kin sues truck co. in East Harlem crossing death

The parents of the 6-year-old boy who was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer at an unmanned school crossing in East Harlem are suing the trucking company and demanding an inspection of its vehicle by Friday.

“There are a lot of questions about the truck,” lawyer Daniel Kim told The Post shortly after filing a lawsuit against Texas-based McLane Food Service Distribution and driver Robert Carroll Jr.

Sidiki and Mehichata Diarrassouba, father and mother of Amar, brought the lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court yesterday.

The suit charges McLane “failed to keep the truck in a safe and proper manner.”

The family is seeking an unspecified sum.

Amar was run over and dragged by the truck while crossing guard Flavia Roman was AWOL from her post at First Avenue and East 117th Street Feb. 28.

The parents also plan to sue Roman and the city for $50 million in the coming weeks, The Post exclusively reported last weekend.

Bart McKay, an attorney for McLane, declined to comment on the pending litigation.
