Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner Bill Bratton gave medals on Tuesday to mothers, wives and children of 12 heroes who died of 9/11 related illnesses.
Also honored posthumously was Traffic Agent Kalyanaratne Ranasinghe, who was run over in November.
The Warrant Division was one of several commands that received a unit citation. Last year they made over 14,000 apprehensions of which over 8200 were felonies.
The unit citation also went to the 79th Precinct, 113th Precinct, 122th Precinct, Transit District 33, the Central records Division, Cold Case Squad, Firearms Suppression Division, Juvenile Justice Division, Patrol Bronx Anti-crime unit and the School Safety Division.
