Man rams vehicle into police car at Brooklyn precinct, then shoots self in head

An armed man smashed his car into a police vehicle at a Brooklyn precinct today and then tried to blow his brains out, authorities said.

The incident occurred at around 3:05 p.m. at the 81st Precinct, on Ralph Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Several cops had to jump out of the way when the man, identified by sources as Anthony Alexander, zoomed his car into the precinct parking lot.

After smashing into a police-owned Dodge Caravan, Alexander got out of his car, aimed a gun under his chin and pulled the trigger, said sources.

Alexander, 32, was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was reportedly undergoing surgery this afternoon.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Police sources said Alexander became distraught while he was being investigated in a domestic violence dispute.

He was arrested on March 16 on misdemeanor charges of choking and beating his girlfriend, said sources.
