Jenna Wolfe announces pregnancy on ‘Today’

Finally, there’s a happy story at the “Today” show.

While co-host Matt Laueis running for cover following the New York magazine story exposing the backstage frailties of the embattled morning show, one 30 Rock employee has something to smile about.

Jenna Wolfe, a correspondent for the show, announced her pregnancy on “Today” with fellow NBC foreign correspondent Stephanie Gosk. The baby — a girl, in case you want to start shopping — is due at the end of August.

The relationship was secret until yesterday.

“I don’t want to bring my daughter into a world where I’m not comfortable telling everyone who I am and who her mother is,” Wolfe said about coming out.

She did not say how the baby was conceived — donor or in vitro.

This being the age of TMI though, Wolfe is already sharing the gritty details of her “journey” on the slick “Today’s Moms” blog on the NBC News Web site.

“This baby doesn’t care that I was in phenomenal shape before getting pregnant,” Wolfe writes. “She doesn’t care that I had a near-perfect diet. She made the first four months brutal for me.”
