Metro-North announced a new schedule Monday after analyzing its train times, which were slowed down by maintenance work and speed reductions because of derailments in The Bronx and Connecticut.
The new schedule starts May 11.
Riders on the Hudson Line will have their trip to Grand Central cut by about 2 minutes. It will be up to 3 minutes longer coming back.
Harlem Line commuters will arrive in Grand Central up to 4 minutes faster, and their return trips will be 2 minutes shorter, too.
New Haven trips will be 2 minutes shorter heading into the city but up to 6 minutes longer returning.
The New Haven line has more bridges and curves than other lines.
The revised schedule is expected to be more reliable.
Riders have been frustrated with unreliable timetables since Metro-North’s troubles last year.
“We are going to restore commuters’ reliability at Grand Central,” said railroad President Joseph Giulietti.
