10-year-old ‘Ellen’ still a hit

Ten years after for ‘Ellen’

Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show is hitting record numbers — 10 years into its run.

For the week ending Dec. 13, “Ellen” (4 p.m./Ch. 4) averaged 4.41 million viewers, its best-ever viewership number dating back to the show’s Sept. 2003 launch. Those numbers put “Ellen” thisclose to “Dr. Phil,” which finished that week with 4.48 million viewers as the week’s top-rated daytime talk show.

“Ellen” aired its “12 Days of Giveaways” through this Monday, Dec. 23 — so DeGeneres has a chance to break her own ratings record when the next syndication numbers come in for the week ending Dec. 20.

Last, but not least . . .

VH1 Classic’s “That Metal Show” hosts Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine will host the show’s Christmas party Saturday night at Dingbatz (620 Van Houten Ave., Clifton NJ) with special guest Madame Mayhem. Season 13 of “That Metal Show” premieres Jan. 18 . . . Uh oh, guess what day it is? My pick for the year’s best TV commercial: The Geico “Hump Day” camel. No contest.
