9-year-old hangs herself, may have been jealous of new half-sibling: police

Police are investigating the apparent suicide of a 9-year-old Bronx girl who may have hanged herself because she was jealous of her new half-sibling, sources said.

Justice Williams was found by her mother hanging from the shower frame in the bathroom of her family’s Morris Park home at around 8:20 p.m. Sunday, cops said.

The horrified mom, Tamiqua Torres, 31, had gone to check on her daughter because she was taking a long time in the shower, police sources said. When the mom opened the door, she found little Justice with a white cloth around her neck, hanging from the metal shower frame.

The girl was pronounced dead at Jacobi Hospital.

A source said Justice’s parents put her in therapy after she told her them, “I want to die,” when Torres and her new husband, Raymond, had a baby about a year ago.
