MTA staffer busted after staging robbery at Queens subway stop: cops

An MTA station agent who claimed she was bound, gagged, and robbed at gunpoint while on the clock was busted for orchestrating the scam today.

Tracy King, 48, and accomplice Anthony Brown, 42, made off with $4,000 from the token booth in what the Queens district attorney called an “inside job.”

King told police Saturday she bound by duct tape after letting a man — her accomplice, Brown — in an MTA vest use a microwave in the break room of the 111th Street and Roosevelt Avenue station on the 7 line, the DA’s office said.

Cops arrested Brown — and soon after arrested King after they learned she was involved and the two planned to split the haul 50/50, authorities said.

“The MTA employee charged in this case is accused of staging the purported robbery and splitting the proceeds of the crime with an accomplice,” District Attorney Brown said.

“They now face the likely prospect of significant time behind bars.”

Police learned of their alleged scheme when they found a roll of duct tape in the break room and cell phone records that shows the supposed thief had called his victim on numerous occasions.

Brown, the faux robber, told police that it was King’s idea to use the duct tape because if they didn’t cops would not fall for the robbery stunt.

Authorities found $2,334 in cash at Brown’s girlfriend’s apartment.

The two alleged con artists awaited arraignment today.
