Principal made aide drive son

A Brooklyn principal used a low-paid subordinate as her family car service — ordering him to pick up her son at school and drive him to her, officials said yesterday.

IS 340 Principal Jean Williams’ only punishment for turning the staffer into a chauffeur was a letter of rebuke from the city’s Conflicts of Interest Board.

The warning letter noted that she violated city policy by making school aide Jason Walters pick her son up at least three times during the 2011-12 school year.

Williams, a graduate of the city’s training ground for principals known as the NYC Leadership Academy, has been principal of IS 340 since 2006.

She received an unsatisfactory performance rating back in 2008 — the year the Prospect Heights middle school was shamed with an “F” grade by the city.

The school subsequently showed some improvement before tanking into the city’s bottom 1 percent of middle schools last year.

Williams, whose salary is $133,000, did not respond to an e-mail seeking comment.
