Man leaps from GWB

A man jumped from the George Washington Bridge this morning, authorities said.

H plunged from the New Jersey side of the bridge about 8:45 a.m., according to a Port Authority spokesman.

An FDNY boat recovered the body from the Hudson River, and the man is being taken to the city medical examiner for an autopsy, the spokesman added. He has not been identified yet.

The man was wearing an orange sweatshirt and left a briefcase behind on the bridge, according to an FDNY spokeswoman.
