‘Live’ could continue ratings blitz with ‘After Oscar Show’

“Live with Kelly and Michael” has been on a ratings tear this season — and has a prime opportunity to build on that momentum with this Monday’s annual “After Oscar Show” (9 a.m./Ch. 7).

Airing live from the 3,000-seat Dolby Theatre in Hollywood — the site of Sunday night’s Oscarcast and just hours after that show wraps — the “After Oscar Show,” hosted by Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, will feature A-list celebs from Sunday night’s Oscars — and (hopefully) some Academy Award winners from Hollywood’s big night (past guests include Oscar winners Jean Dujardin, Octavia Spencer and Christoph Waltz).

“We take over the theatre at the stroke of midnight and, from the middle of the night we’re putting the show together,” says “Live” executive producer Michael Gelman. “It’s a real logistical nightmare. We have a board with multiple possible plans and since we don’t know who’s going to win . . . we’re kind of producing the show on the fly. But as nerve-wracking as it is, it’s been a very successful show and has rated as one of our top shows of each year.

“And when Kelly and Michael come out on that huge stage, with that huge audience, they’re visibly moved. There’s a lot of history there considering what happened the night before.”

Ripa will be backstage, while Strahan will be buttonholing celebs on Sunday night’s red carpet; those interviews will air Monday along with other features from Sunday night’s show. “We call and put out offers for call of intent to everyone . . . and we try to get as much commitment as possible for backstage and [for] after the [Oscars] show,” Gelman says. “A lot of times people don’t even want to talk about winning because they’re superstitious, and some people might give us a commitment but then might not win. There are a million scenarios.

“We do a live show all year long and we’re used to turning it around on a dime, so even if we had an hour to fill with just our two hosts kibitzing and an audience we could do the show,” he says. “We can’t fail, but we always try to raise the bar and do a better [‘After Oscar’] show every year.”

Last, but not least . . .

Della Reese will guest-star on two episodes of Hallmark Channel’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” which premieres April 20 with stars Eric Mabius and Kristin Booth and is executive-produced by Martha Williamson — who also executive-produced Reese’s CBS hit, “Touched by an Angel.”Reese is repped by Lynda Bensky (Bensky Entertainment) . . . Victoria Shaffer, the 20-year-old daughter of “Late Show” band leader Paul Shaffer, has been named the host of “Tails of the City,” a new radio show premiering on Pet Life Radio (her dad wrote the show’s theme song; first guest is “Modern Family” star Ty Burrell, who plays the voice of the dog Mr. Peabody in “Mr. Peabody and Sherman” ) . . . “The Collective, Powered by Vevo” premieres March 6 on NUVOtv (8 p.m.) . . . Potluck Video begins airing as a half-hour show March 6 on NYC Life (Ch. 25 on TW Cable).
