Botched slay case easy to forget for DA

There’s a case of amnesia at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office.

Lawyers for a man who was wrongfully convicted of killing a rabbi in 1995 slammed the case’s main prosecutor yesterday for refusing to answer questions in a deposition last month, according to a Brooklyn federal court filing.

Attorney Joel Rudin — who is representing Jabbar Collins in his $150 million suit against the city — said prosecutor Michael Vecchione couldn’t recall aspects of the case 324 times over five hours.

Rudin demanded that he be given three more hours to question DA Charles Hynes’ ADA.

Rudin argued that additional interrogation time would also allow him to question statements Vecchione made on the CBS reality show “Brooklyn DA” last Saturday, when he denied any wrongdoing.

Collins’ lawyers assert that Vecchione — under Hynes’ watch — bullied witnesses to testify against Collins.

A key witness in the case said last month that Vecchione threatened to slam him over the head with a table and jail him if he refused to testify against Collins.
