The fourth season of “Rizzoli & Isles” started with a bang.
The TNT crime drama, which teams Angie Harmon as raspy-voiced detective Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander as medical examiner Maura Isles, is cable’s highest-rated drama, with 6.6 million viewers.
That’s an 18 percent increase over last summer.
“Rizzoli” was followed at 10 p.m. by the second-season premiere of “Perception,” starring Eric McCormack, whose numbers dropped, to just over four millon. That’s down from the 5.6 million who tuned into the 2012 premiere when the series bowed after a 6.1 million-strong episode of “The Closer.”
